Qualifications:

An applicant must have a Ph.D. in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering. Research expertise in embedded systems and SoC (system on chip) is required. Academic and industry experience in embedded systems and SoC in digital signal processing, digital communications, networking, or graphics/imaging is highly desirable. For appointment at the assistant professor rank, the candidate must demonstrate potential for teaching and scholarly excellence. For appointment at an advanced rank, the candidate must have a record of teaching excellence and scholarly accomplishment commensurate with a tenured position. Applicants should have awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable experience.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate Electrical Engineering courses. Candidate will conduct research and develop courses and laboratories in the embedded systems and SoC with applications in digital signal processing, networking, or video/graphics/imaging area. Faculty are expected to seek external partnerships and collaboration with Silicon Valley and beyond, to work collaboratively with others to integrate the embedded systems and SoC with other related areas such as digital signal processing, ASIC design, and computer architecture. The successful candidate must address the needs of a student population of great diversity - in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language, and academic preparation - through course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.

Salary Range:Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Starting Date:August 21, 2014
