Program Manager, Electrical Engineering
The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for
a Program Manager, Electrical Engineering.
The Notre Dame Radiation Laboratory (NDRL), operated by
the University of Notre Dame under a cooperative
agreement with the United States Department of Energy, is
an international center for the study of chemical
reactions initiated by ionizing radiation. The NDRL is
looking for an electronics engineer to oversee its
electronics shop and accelerator operations. He or she
will be responsible for all design, fabrication, and
maintenance of electronic components including analytic
instruments, as well as general supervision of the lasers
and electron accelerators in the laboratory. Assignments
typically included equipment design and development,
testing of materials, preparation of specifications, and
coordination of electronics shop to manufacture, install,
test, and repair laboratory electronic equipment.
Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 4 years of experience.
Knowledge of digital and analog electronic circuits,
working knowledge of fabrication and wiring techniques,
and ability to use computer-aided design programs.
Ability to lead and oversee technical efforts of
subordinates. Highly organized and able to work and
communicate effectively with a diverse population in a
research development environment. Customer service skills
and problem solving skills a must.
Desirable skills: MS in electronic engineering, knowledge
of various accelerator systems, familiarity with higher
level programming languages (C, C++, etc), and the
ability to bridge the gap between hardware and software.
